When we want to upload pictures (images) to your website / blog sometimes some of us do not know yet the need to optimize the size and appearance. Also included when we wish to send pictures via email. Sometimes even not infrequently we see from the photos directly uploaded or sent via email for granted.
One free program to optimize the image size is to use Riot (Radical Image Optimization Tool). Riot is a free program for optimizing images, to set the compression level, so that it can produce images that stay quality, but with a much smaller size than the original.
If you’re using photoshop, there’s the menu to save the image to the website (save for web). This program may be similar to that function, only with more features. This little program has many features and extremely easy to use. Here are some main features:
* Supports a variety of image formats, even those not yet known.
* Optimization to produce JPG, PNG or GIF
* Display a simple and clear, so easy to use
* Comparison of the original file and the result looks a direct compression
* Compressed files with an option to generate files of a certain size
* Process optimization quickly
* Optimization of multiple files at once (batch processing)
* Support for image transparency
* Adjustment images: brightness, contrast, gamma invert.
* Resize resample the image with a popular technique
* The optimization / compression program comparable to or even better pay
Use of Riot
Riot uses two main view, the left side of the original image and the right is a picture that has been in the optimization. Its use is fairly easy, the following brief explanation:
1. Run Riot, both versions of the installer or portable version
2. Open the image, via the menu File-> Open or through the open icon.
3. Set optimization by sliding the scroll bar, on the optimization. Look at the quality of the images on the right side
4. If the image quality is still good and the size is too small, so we just save it directly drawing.
To do that a lot of image optimization at the same time, can be done with the Batch menu. Click on this menu, then when it pops up, enter drawings to be on the optimization. Set a few parameters, adjust with our desires. Do not forget to set the directory image optimization results will be stored.
